Your questions answered
Common questions
What is coworking?
A shared workspace where you buy a membership rather than rent an office. You access desks, meeting rooms, kitchens and breakout areas alongside other members. Memberships range from a few days a month through to dedicated desks and small private pods. Everything is included in the monthly fee.
How much does coworking cost globally?
Prices vary widely by market. Hot desk memberships can start from around US$125 per month in Lisbon, Bangkok and Bali, rising to US$400 to US$550 per month in London, New York and Singapore. Dedicated desks typically sit 40 to 60 percent above hot desk pricing. Private pods for 2 to 4 people range from US$700 to US$3,000 per month depending on the city.
What terms are available?
Most coworking is month to month with 30 days notice either way. Some operators offer discounts for 3, 6 or 12 month commitments, usually 10 to 20 percent off the headline rate. Day passes are widely available from around US$25 to US$50 per day.
Can I use one membership in multiple cities?
Yes. Several operators offer global memberships with access to hundreds of locations worldwide. IWG’s Spaces and Regus networks, WeWork All Access, The Office Group and Mindspace all run cross-city memberships. These suit travelling professionals and distributed teams that need occasional space in multiple cities.
Is coworking suitable for established businesses?
Often, yes. Many operators now offer enterprise plans with 20 plus dedicated desks or small private offices within a coworking environment. It is an efficient model for satellite offices, project teams and businesses that want to avoid traditional lease commitments.
